Status of the ASIN Components and Partners

 

This list provides the latest information on the status of all ASIN partners with respect to ASIN, what has been done, what remains to be done, as well as some indication of timelines and resources.

  • One piece missing: Single sign-on authentication script. Current LDAP implementation does not contain a linking element to Unicorn.

    Basically, the LDAP authentication needs to return a Unicorn linking element (Bar code / Student ID), which is used to determine the

    Unicorn internal user record key. The record key along with the User ID and Library Symbol are passed to Relais in a document request.

    Relais uses these user data elements to perform an NCIP lookup as part of the User Authentication process.

    • One question UPEI is asking is how we might be able to leverage learning management systems like Moodle to archieve the intent of Rooms, at least at the local level. The discussion we are having is "can we use Moodle to create a course presence for every course on campus, and thereby deliver information resources specific to that course.
